                               ORDINANCE NO.   9894 
        
        
        
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 9832
                   ENCAPTIONED "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA
                   CITY CODE, PART II, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION
                   2-168.1, TO ESTABLISH A PERSONAL LEAVE
                   TRANSFER PROGRAM".

              	   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE:
              	   SECTION 1.  That Ordinance No. 9832 encaptioned as set 

         forth above be and is hereby amended as follows:
              Sec. 2-168.1(C) be amended to delete "six calendar
              months" and substitute therein "one year".
             
              Sec. 2-168.1(E) be deleted in its entirety and the
              following be substituted:
             
                   Unless the employee donating personal leave is
                   of an equal or higher pay grade than the
                   employee receiving the transfer of personal
                   leave, then the contribution of leave shall be
                   pro rata reduced to account for difference in
                   pay.
                  
              Sec. 2-168.1(G) be amended to delete the last sentence
              of the paragraph and replace it with the following:
             
                   The Personnel Director shall establish
                   conversion formulas to adjust for relative
                   differences caused by the transfer of leave
                   days to or from firefighters, police officers,
                   or other employees whose leave days are not
                   equivalent to the standard eight-hour leave
                   day or for differences in wages where the
                   employee donating leave is in a lower pay
                   grade.
                  
              Sec. 2-168.1(H) be amended to delete "six (6) months"
              and substitute therein "one year".

              	   SECTION 2.  That this ordinance shall be effective two 

         (2) weeks from and after its passge as provided by law.
